# KVO — Khunjrab Villagers Organization

> Community-based conservation organization protecting Khunjrab National Park and empowering eight villages in Upper Gojal, Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan since 1993. KVO manages 5,544 km² of protected buffer zone, running anti-poaching patrols, wildlife monitoring, and a regulated trophy-hunting programme that returns 80% of revenue directly to the eight member communities. Partners include IUCN, WWF, UNDP/GEF, AKRSP, and the Gilgit-Baltistan Wildlife Department.
